Last week, we talked about the gift of new life that God gives us. This week, let’s talk about God’s plan for that life. What does He want us to do with this gift? Thankfully, God doesn’t leave us guessing—He makes it plain and simple.
Micah 6:8 (The Message) says:
“But he’s already made it plain how to live, what to do, what God is looking for in men and women. It’s quite simple: Do what is fair and just to your neighbor, be compassionate and loyal in your love, and don’t take yourself too seriously—take God seriously.”
God’s plan for living is simple and clear.
1️⃣ Be a Person of Character. Do what’s fair and just with others. This means living with integrity in every part of life—at work, at home, and in relationships. It’s about being honest, keeping your word, and standing up for what is right, even when it’s hard.
2️⃣ Be Compassionate and Committed in Your Love. Love isn’t always easy. It requires patience, forgiveness, and consistency. God calls us to love people through their flaws, just as He loves us. It’s about showing up for others, offering grace, and being someone they can count on.
3️⃣ Be Humble and Serious About God. Make God the core and central focus of your life. In a world that encourages self-promotion and pride, God asks us to live with humility. This doesn’t mean thinking less of ourselves—it means thinking of ourselves less and putting God first. It’s about trusting His plans over our own and letting His purpose shape our daily lives.
God’s plan isn’t complicated, but it calls us to live with intention. To be fair, to love deeply, and to walk humbly. These simple truths shape a life that honors Him.
