#FarmSunday Devotional – Jesus is Always There

Have you ever had a time in your life when you felt overwhelmed with stress…

felt a little lost or alone…

maybe even overlooked or unneeded?

And then, when you turned to the people you thought you could count on… they didn’t show up the way you expected?

Or worse, they pulled away completely?

Those moments can hit deeper than we expect.

If any of that sounds familiar, or if you’ve been carrying something like that lately, we want you to hear this.

In Hebrews 13:5 God says,

“I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

In a very unusual way of describing God’s promise, the writer uses a series of five negative phrases to amplify, multiply, and strengthen the point about God’s continued presence and goodness in our lives.

Often translated as “I will never leave you, nor forsake you,” the phrase literally means:

“I will not, I will never, no, I will never-ever leave you, nor forsake you.”

What God wants us to understand is this:

Jesus Christ will never EVER leave you. No matter what your life circumstances are or become, Jesus will not abandon, desert, or leave you behind.

Jesus Christ will never EVER forsake you. He never makes us feel helpless, alienated, or let down. Not ever. Not once.

What an incredible and absolute promise we have in Jesus Christ.

No matter what you’re facing, and no matter how others may show up or not show up, this remains true—because of Jesus Christ, you are never alone, never forsaken, and never without support, encouragement, or care.

Jesus is there. Always.
