#FarmSunday | Dwelling in Gods Presence

Most of us have had a season where everything felt like it was coming apart at once. The pressure piling up. No clear way out. And somewhere in the middle of all of it you find yourself asking what actually matters. What is the one thing you would hold onto if everything else got stripped away.

In Psalm 27, we find David in serious trouble. Life isn’t going well for him. From all appearances, David’s life scenario says—there is no hope and no way out. David is on the run and surrounded by people who are his enemies. People who want to destroy him. The pressure is real. The danger is real.

And yet, right in the middle of all that stress and hardship, David shares the one thing in his life that matters to him more than anything. Right there in verse 4:

“I am asking God for one thing, only one thing I seek; to live with Him in His house my whole life long.” — Psalm 27:4 (The Message)

Just one thing.

So what is so special about dwelling in the house of the Lord? The house of the Lord represents God’s presence. It is where His presence dwells.

What David is saying is this: Lord, all I care about in my life is being in your presence.

Because in God’s presence there is strength, safety, security, and protection. There is healing and comfort for our body, soul, and spirit. There is peace, joy, and love that will encourage and lift you up. And there is a vast supply of resources for everything we need.

Not someday. Right now. Right in the middle of whatever you are walking through.

This week, let’s follow after David’s heart. Let’s desire and seek to be in God’s presence. Not as a last resort when things get hard. As the one thing we build everything else around.

One pursuit. One desire. One place where everything makes sense—dwelling in God’s presence!
