Just as my farmer fella diligently offers the gift of refilling our animal troughs with clean fresh water, I reflect on the fact that Jesus offers us an even greater gift—the living water that quenches our deepest thirst.
In the book of John, Jesus reminds us that the water of this world can only temporarily satisfy our physical thirst, but the living water that He provides is transformative—we can flourish eternally! Wow! What a thought that is!!! His water is a constant source within us, like a spring, welling up and flowing eternally, nurturing our souls and bringing us into communion with Him.
Today I am reminded to drink deeply from this spring of divine grace! I want to be to replinished and to have it overflow in our lives and in the lives of others.
“Jesus answered, ‘Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.’” – John 4:13-14 (NIV)
