Spent a BombDiggity day in the kitchen with my grand chefs, Addy and Brylee, as we whipped up Grandmother Atkins’s legendary Mac & Cheese – a Morris family treasure at every gathering, passed down from MaMa to our beloved GiGi (Gorgeous Grandma and Laneβs Mom)
π©βπ³ Ingredients:
– 2 1/4 C uncooked elbow macaroni (cooked al dente- a little firm)
– 1 1/2 sticks of butter
– 3 cups milk (or sub some cream for an indulgent twist!)
– 4 beaten eggs
– 3/4 tsp salt
– A hint of garlic for that extra oomph!
– 1 1/2 lbs (6 cups) of extra sharp cheddar cheese (because cheese is life!)
π₯ Oven preheated to a toasty 375Β°F and a 9Γ13 inch baking pan lightly greased.
π½οΈ Method to the madness:
1. Layering macaroni and cheese like the artists we are.
2. Slowly pour the milk/egg mixture over our masterpiece.
3. Bake for 30-40 mins until it’s a delicious golden brown.
Pro tip: It’s okay if it’s a bit wobbly – it sets to perfection as it cools!
We had a dance party (watch video!), spent some sweet time together, and found success in our first attempt in making this cheesy delight! Pass down the love and tradition in your own family!
