“Let me give you a new command: Love one another. In the same way I loved you, you love one another. This is how everyone will recognize that you are my disciples—when they see the love you have for each other.” – John 13:34-35 (The Message)
Can you even comprehend that? Jesus calls us to love one another “in the same way” He loved us. Our love is superimposed & traced over Christ’s love. His love isn’t just a fleeting emotion; it’s a love infused with sacrifice, service, forgiveness, reconciliation, restoration, compassion, and empathy in action.
It’s easy to get caught up in loud voices and heated arguments, but Jesus reminds us that the world will understand and “recognize we are His disciples” (followers) by the genuine love we show. This love points people back to Jesus, not through anger or noise, but through actions that mirror His heart.
Today, let’s reflect on how we can embody this love in our lives. Let’s serve each other selflessly, forgive wholeheartedly, and reach out with compassion and empathy. Let’s be the light that points to & leads others to the amazing love of Jesus.
