Knoxville Nest: Landscaping Project on a Budget!

The Knoxville Nest has a fresh look! 🌱 This 1930-built house had landscaping that was not only overgrown but also caused serious drainage issues, so we had no choice but to start over (twist my arm!).

We managed to keep things economical by scooping up most of our plants at 50-75% off at the end of the season and laying the landscaping fabric ourselves. Lane and I took on this project together, planting everything by hand, and now, our revamped landscaping is ready to settle in, grow a little, and shine.

Here’s what we’ve added so far: Dragon Baby Hydrangeas, which are mini powerhouses; Raspberry Bellini Hydrangea Bushes for gorgeous and compact color; Pencil Bushes to add height along the back; Emerald and Gold Euonymus as perfect evergreen fillers; cheerful Black-Eyed Susans; and Pink Blush Nandinas with softer hues and less red for a soft and fresh accent.

For now, everything’s tucked in with pine needles for fall and winter. Stay tuned for spring time when these beauties start to shine and we pack in more blooms!
