Some days, it’s hard to feel like what we’re doing is making a difference. We show up, we pray, we serve, we care — but progress feels slow. Maybe you’ve poured your heart into someone who hasn’t changed, or prayed the same prayer for years without seeing an answer.
That’s when this verse in 1 Corinthians 15 hits like a deep breath of hope.
“With all this going for us, my dear, dear friends, stand your ground. And don’t hold back. Throw yourselves into the work of the Master, confident that nothing you do for Him is a waste of time or effort.”
Where That Confidence Comes From
That kind of bold confidence doesn’t come from wishful thinking. Paul had just spent the entire chapter reminding us that Jesus didn’t just die — He rose from the dead. He conquered sin, guilt, and death. That’s the foundation we stand on.
Because of Jesus’s victory, we can trust that none of our efforts for God are wasted — not the prayers, not the service, not the late-night tears or early-morning quiet times. Even when we don’t see results right away, God sees it all.
So keep going. Stand your ground. What you do for Him matters more than you know.
