Hebrews 10:22–25
Most mornings on the farm start the same way — with a burst of pure, unfiltered joy. The pigs come running the second they hear us. The goats are bright-eyed and bushy-tailed before the sun is even up. The chickens are chattering and dancing. The donkeys wander over eager for attention, the farm dogs and barn cats are full of energy, and Rosie is already stomping her hooves like she’s been waiting all night for this moment.
There’s so much excitement in the air that you can’t help but catch it.
And every once in a while when I watch that, I think — what if our faith looked like this? What if we carried that same readiness, that same joy, that same anticipation into our walk with Christ?
Hebrews 10:22–25 (The Message) gives us that exact invitation:
So let’s do it—full of belief, confident that we’re presentable inside and out. Let’s keep a firm grip on the promises that keep us going. He always keeps his word. Let’s see how inventive we can be in encouraging love and helping out, not avoiding worshiping together as some do but spurring each other on, especially as we see the big Day approaching.
I love how this passage begins: “So let’s do it.”
It’s a call to a contagious, joy-filled faith — one that others can feel simply by being near us.
Why should our faith carry that kind of excitement?
First, because of Jesus Christ, we have mercy and grace that give us confidence. His sacrifice makes us presentable to God — not in a timid way, but in a full, joyful, welcomed way. Through Christ’s shed blood, we can step into God’s presence with thanksgiving, joy, and praise.
Second, we hold tightly to God’s promises — not fragile hopes, but guarantees backed by Christ Himself. We pray knowing He hears us. We trust knowing He is faithful. We HOPE knowing He keeps His word every single time.
And finally, Hebrews invites us to be inventive. Creative. Intentional in how we encourage and love others. Faith isn’t passive — it’s active. It shows up. It helps. It gathers. It sparks something in the people around us as we all prepare for the day the Lord returns.
Out here, excitement spreads quickly. One animal runs and suddenly everyone is moving. Joy builds on joy. Faith can do the same thing.
This week, may we live out Hebrews 10 with confidence. May our joy in Christ be contagious. May we find creative ways to love, help, encourage, and worship together. And may our excitement about the promises of God spark something new in someone else.
