And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose. — Romans 8:28 (NIV)
Life has its highs and lows—moments of joy and moments of deep frustration or sorrow. Sometimes, we can clearly see God’s hand at work, and other times, we struggle to understand why we’re facing hardship. But Romans 8:28 gives us an enduring promise: God is always at work, weaving every part of our story together for good.
This doesn’t mean everything will be easy, comfortable, or even enjoyable. The good that God promises isn’t about our immediate happiness or satisfaction—it’s about His redemptive work in our lives. Every joy, every challenge, every unanswered question is being used by Him for a greater purpose.
To claim this promise, there are two conditions:
1️⃣ Loving God — Loving Him with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength.
2️⃣ Following His Purpose — Trusting His plan, listening to His voice through prayer and scripture, and walking in obedience, even when the path seems unclear and uncertain.
For the believer, regardless of our present circumstances, God is always at work doing great things. The struggles we face today may not feel good, but they are never wasted. The difficulties of this present time can’t compare to the greater things that will be revealed in us.
If you’re in a season of uncertainty or suffering, hold fast to this truth: God is not finished. His plan for your life is unfolding, and He is working everything—yes, everything—for your ultimate good.
Keep trusting. Keep praying. Keep embracing His promises. Because the best is yet to come.
