#FarmSunday Devotional: Praise God, Everybody! Psalm 117

Have you ever had a moment where you truly felt included—welcomed without hesitation, accepted without needing to earn it? I remember a time I walked into a room and someone simply said, “I saved you a seat.” That small act spoke volumes. It reminded me how powerful it feels to be invited in. Psalm 117 feels like that. A beautiful, open invitation to every single one of us.

Psalm 117 is only two verses long—it’s the shortest psalm and the shortest chapter in the entire Bible. But in those two verses is a power-packed message we all need to hear.

Psalm 117 reminds us that everybody should praise God… all people, all nations, no one excluded.

Verse 2 tells us why:

We praise God because His love and mercy permeate every area of our life. And that wondrous love is given to everyone through Jesus Christ.

We also praise God because His truth and faithfulness never end. They go on for eternity. We never have to worry that God’s character will ever change. He is the same yesterday, today, and forevermore!

This week, let’s actively practice praising God for all He’s done and is doing in our life. Praising God isn’t about us—it’s all about Him.

We can start by praising Him for His incredible love, mercy, truth, and faithfulness given to each of us through His son Jesus Christ. We can praise Him for His eternal character that never changes.

And we can begin that praise with simple words:

Hallelujah. I love you, Jesus. I completely surrender to you.
