What a God we have! And how fortunate we are to have him, this Father of our Master Jesus! Because Jesus was raised from the dead, we’ve been given a brand-new life and have everything to live for, including a future in heaven—and the future starts now! God is keeping careful watch over us and the future. The Day is coming when you’ll have it all—life healed and whole.
Five simple words, “What a God we have!”, can completely transform the way we face whatever life brings. Peter’s declaration lifts our eyes from the weight of our circumstances and reminds us just how blessed and fortunate we are to belong to Him.
Peter doesn’t stop there. He goes on to tell us why our God is great and so worthy of praise.
First, God gave us His Son, crucified and resurrected, to rescue, redeem, and restore us.
Second, because of Jesus Christ, we’ve been given a brand-new life filled with grace, mercy, and complete forgiveness, no matter what our past holds.
Third, in Jesus, our life in Him is worth living. We walk in freedom, free from guilt, worry, anger, and fear. Through Christ, we are free indeed.
And finally, in Jesus, our future is secure in heaven. The best part is that Peter tells us the future starts now. Heaven begins to shape our hearts and lives today.
This week, when life hits hard and challenges try to steal your peace or joy, remember these five powerful words: What a God we have!
Because in Him, you can overcome, and you can do all things through Jesus Christ who strengthens you.
