Happy #FarmSunday! As the crisp winter air whispers the coming of Christmas, our hearts brim with anticipation and expectation. In this cozy nook of our farm, the festive spirit is alive and twinkling. Jules stretched her creative spirit and crafted a beautiful wreath this week. Our small vintage tree, adorned with lights and ornaments, stands proudly near our quaint village display. These little traditions weave a tapestry of warmth and joy in our home.
In the midst of hanging decorations and wrapping gifts, there’s a comforting familiarity. The joy of these traditions is undeniable, and they bring us closer to our loved ones. Exchanging presents, sharing laughter, and stories, all these are threads in the fabric of our holiday celebrations.
But let’s pause and reflect. The anticipation of Christmas isn’t just about the festivities. It’s about something much deeper, something that began long before the star shone brightly over Bethlehem. Our anticipation is the story of Jesus Christ and his arrival was foretold with profound clarity in the Bible. The Old Testament speaks of over 200 prophecies about Jesus – revealing how He would come in this world, who He would be, and what He would do.
Isaiah 7:14 foretells, “Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel (God with us).” This prophecy, filled with hope and promise, set the stage for the miraculous birth of Jesus.
As we drape our homes in festive decor and plan for holiday gatherings, let’s also prepare our hearts. Let’s embrace these coming weeks with immense anticipation and hope, not just for the traditions and the gathering but for what they truly signify. We’re celebrating the greatest gift of all – Christ, who gave us the ultimate gift of love and salvation.
So, this Christmas, amidst the twinkling lights and the joyous carols, let’s remember the true essence of this season. It’s a time to celebrate, to cherish, and to reflect on the profound love that was born in a manger. May your hearts be filled with anticipation and hope in Him.
With love and blessings,
Lane & Jules
