Planting Ranunculus and $3 Bulb Crates

🌸 Spring has sprung and it’s time to get creative with your garden! 🌱 I was completely jealous of all the beautiful crates full of bulbs that I keep seeing from the flower farms but couldnt find them anywhere to purchase easily… So, I improvised and discovered a fantastic way to plant Ranunculus using affordable $3 crates from Dollar Tree. Yes, you read that right, only $3! Here’s how I did it:

1️⃣ First, I drilled holes into the bottom of the crates for proper drainage. This step is crucial to avoid root or corm rot.

2️⃣ Then, I filled them with good quality, nutrient-rich soil. My secret? A mix heavy on compost with a sprinkle of worm castings for that extra boost of nutrients. Remember, the soil should be loose and well-draining.

3️⃣ Planting time! Ranunculus corms need to be planted about 2-3 inches deep with around 6 inches of space between each. Make sure the pointy ends of the corm is facing downward. I managed to fit 6 corms per crate perfectly.

4️⃣ Keep the soil moist, but not soaked. Ranunculus love consistency.

5️⃣ add sunshine ☀️

🥶 And a little tip for those unpredictable spring temperatures: if the weather decides to take a chilly turn, don’t hesitate to cover your Ranunculus. They appreciate a cooler start, but too cold can be harmful.

Thanks to Farmhouse Flower Farm for the beautiful Ranunculus.
