🌱 Ever thought about giving your tomato plants a breakfast treat? Try planting them with an egg! Yes, you heard right—an egg! 🤯 There is a lot of debate on this practice but here is how I do it:
1️⃣ Choose a sunny spot in your garden that gets plenty of light.
2️⃣ Dig a hole about 6-8 inches deep and crack open a whole raw egg right in the bottom. 🥚 inside my duck eggs but chicken is fine too!
3️⃣ Place your tomato plant on top and cover it with soil. I bury mine fairly deep into the soil to help them grow deeper roots. The egg will slowly decompose and serve as a natural fertilizer, giving your tomatoes a nutrient boost! 🍅💪
Why an Egg? Eggs are packed with calcium, which helps prevent blossom end rot in tomatoes and promotes stronger cell walls. Plus, as the egg decomposes, it releases nitrogen, essential for healthy plant growth.
4️⃣ Keep the soil moist and watch your tomatoes thrive!
