🌿🕯️ Hand- Poured, Small Batch, and made with Love at Sweet Bombdiggity Farms.
We have wholeheartedly embraced the magic of homemade gifts this year. I’m excited to share our latest creation with you – handmade soy candles with natural scents in charming wooden bread bowls. We like to think that they don’t just light up a room; but also they radiate love🌟❤️
Through a journey of trial and error, I’ve come a long way in mastering candle-making. Here are five tips I’ve learned along the way that might help you:
1. Wick Wisdom: Forget those little stickers for wicks! For our wooden bowls, a non-toxic, nonflammable construction adhesive keeps the wick perfectly in place, ensuring safety and stability.
2. Temperature Matters: When pouring the soy wax, make sure it’s not too hot. I found the sweet spot around 120°F (49°C). This temperature ensures the wax sets evenly, avoiding cracks and separation.
3. Scent Proportions: Getting the scent right is crucial. I recommend using 6-8% fragrance oil by weight. This gives a rich aroma without being overwhelming.
4. Cure Time: Patience is key! Let your candles cure for at least 48 hours before lighting them up. This wait ensures the best scent throw and a more even burn.
5. Test Burns: Do a test burn for an hour to see how your candle performs. It helps in understanding the burn pattern and if any adjustments are needed for future batches.
Each candle is a story and a gentle echo of the nature around us. We plan to offer some small batches of our hand-poured candles scented with oils from fragrances we grow right here in our farm! Stay tuned for our store in early 2024 🕯️
Cheers to a warm and glowing holiday for you all!
