#FarmSunday Devotional: Sowing Seeds of Service

On this #FarmSunday, let’s reflect on the profound wisdom found in the parable of the grain of wheat found in John 12:24-26. A single grain, when left unplanted, remains just that—a lone, solitary grain. But when it is sown into the earth, it transforms, grows, and multiplies, producing a bountiful harvest.

In the same way, our lives hold the potential for immense impact when we choose to serve others. Just as Christ demonstrated through His life, true service is a process and involves a bit of self-sacrifice. It’s about preparing the ground so that others may flourish. When we give of ourselves, our time, our talents, and our love, we plant seeds that can grow and multiply in ways we might never see.

The greatest opportunity for serving the Lord comes when we shift our focus from ourselves to others. In doing so, we embrace a life of abundance and purpose. This selfless service has a ripple effect—benefiting others and, in turn, bringing joy and fulfillment to our own hearts. The promise…God sees the sincerity of our efforts and rewards us for the genuine love we share.

So, as we sow seeds in our gardens and across our farms, let us also sow seeds of kindness, compassion, and service in the lives of those around us. Trust that in giving of yourself, you are part of a divine multiplication process, creating a harvest of blessings far beyond what you can imagine.

Be Blessed,
Lane & Jules

John 12:24-26 (The Message)

“Listen carefully: Unless a grain of wheat is buried in the ground, dead to the world, it is never any more than a grain of wheat. But if it is buried, it sprouts and reproduces itself many times over. In the same way, anyone who holds on to life just as it is destroys that life. But if you let it go, reckless in your love, you’ll have it forever, real and eternal.”
