#FarmSunday Devotional: Convictions of Steel

1 Thessalonians 1:5-6 “When the message we preached came to you, it wasn’t just words. Something happened in you. The Holy Spirit put steel in your convictions, and you determined to live that way yourselves.”

When the Thessalonians heard and embraced God’s Word, it was not simply another sermon or a set of good ideas. Something powerful happened. The Holy Spirit went to work in them and gave them convictions of steel.

What does that really mean? It means a faith that is strong and resilient enough to stand in life’s toughest storms. It means confidence and commitment that remain even when nothing is going our way. It means a deep and abiding belief that shapes our mindset, guides our choices, and directs our actions as we obey and follow Christ.

And when we look at Jesus, we see those convictions proven true:

• He is faithful and willing to forgive every sin

• He will never leave or forsake us

• He answers prayer

• He provides for us and protects us

• He strengthens us when we are weak

• He gives us perfect peace and comfort in times of trouble

This week, let us pause and reflect. Are our convictions about Jesus Christ as strong as steel?
