Yesterday, we had the pleasure of hosting Dr. Riedel and eight fourth-year vet students from LMU’s Veterinary Program at Sweet Bombdiggity Farms. They brought their knowledge and compassion, performing exams and vaccinations on our goats and mini donkeys. They also trimmed our largest goat, Miles’ horn, as a preventative measure since it was growing toward his head. Everyone did great, and it was a delight to watch their learning in real life. I was so impressed with their care for our babies and their practical instruction and knowledge. As professors at UT Knoxville, Lane and I both believe in the power of experiential learning. Today made me want to go to vet school myself!
Thank you so very much for your time and care. As many of you know, animal care in rural areas is a challenge. It is so cool when your classroom is also a way to make your community a better place.
Big time impressed with LMU, Dr. Riedel, and all of the students. Y’all come back now, ya hear! We think YOU are the Bombdiggity!
